Glad Tidings Men in Ministry Neighborhood Prayer Groups Some Results

The purpose of the Glad Tidings Men in Ministry Neighborhood Groups is fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and ministry and worship this separates the groups from affinity groups or ministry groups. The groups are intentionally Spirit-Led. The groups are following Biblical Principles from Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." The Glad Tidings Men's Small Groups are also in the vision of our Pastor.

The groups are in the will of God and the vision of our Pastor. The expectation is the results would be enormous. The results are hugely significant. Men's lives are changing. Something we hear all the time. So what if we did all this work and there was not any evidence of changed lives. Lives would have still been changed. Why would I say  that? God's Word never comes back empty. Isaiah 55:11 "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

I can talk about men who are now engaged with the Word and Prayer for the first time in their lives. A man, who has gone from living for the world has entered an intense Christian intern program. Men who never participate, in any Men inMinistry activities are opening up to become consistent contributors in these meetings. Men, who are invisible on Sunday and Wednesday but are actively participating in the meetings. All of these men have a lot to contribute; we just needed to provide a comfortable forum.

The city of San Francisco is changing because men are meeting, to fellowship, study the Word, worship and pray together. Based on Isaiah 55:11 if seventy men gather each week to obey God what will happen. The results do not have limits because God does not have limits. Here, also the men are demonstrating the love of Jesus through the love they have for one and other.

Jesus worked in small groups He had 12 Apostles. He had thousands of followers at one point He fed 5,000 men not counting the women and children another He fed 7,000. Jesus could have operated with a huge number of people. Jesus knew that He would be effective operating with a small group. Look at the results: Christianity. After the day of Pentecost Peter, being led by the Spirit, spoke and 3,000 were added to their number. Look at the results of being Spirit Led.

The Glad Tidings Men in Ministry small group meetings are Spirit Led, Bible study, fellowship, and prayer and worship meetings. Can we even imagine the results that God will produce from these meetings?

San Francisco belongs to the Lord it is the light which will lead the world in the great revival.

Whenever I think is all the work worth it, God reminds me that He died for every one of of us. Even if, there were only one of us, He would have died for the salvation of that person. One man changed from these meetings produces massive results.

Glad Tidings Men In Ministry Neighborhood Prayer Groups

The Glad Tidings Men in Ministry Neighborhood Prayer Groups have one objective that is to develop a large group of Holy Spirit Led Men who Pray and Study the Bible. If men are spirit led, the results are men who obey God’s commands and do what pleases Him. In the natural, we aim to bring all of San Francisco to Jesus Christ. In the supernatural, we are storming the gates of heaven and warring in the heavens. Thy Kingdom Come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  As of this writing we have 9 active groups, throughout the city of San Francisco.

Shortly we will have a group within walking distance for every man in San Francisco.

Men in Ministry the neighborhood groups are having a stunning impact on the men and on the City of San Francisco. The testimony of men opening up and talking about life continues to be the best outcome of the groups. When the men open up they are talking about their prayer life all the things that get in the way of daily prayer. The result from each man is nothing should get in the way of prayer and Bible  Study. Nothing is more valuable than spending quality time with God doing what pleases Him by understanding the will of God for each one of us through consistent, daily prayer and Bible Study.

The Neighborhood Groups are using The Power of Prayer by RA Torrey as the basis for the meetings.  The true basis is the Bible, which is the foundation for RA Torrey’s Book. Torrey is candid, he writes as though he is talking to each one of us about our individual commitment to time with God. One of his examples is a man in the waiting room preparing to meet with the Queen of England. That man is not thinking of how much time must I spend with the Queen he is thinking how much time does the Queen have to spend with me. We know God listens to us he will spend as much time with us as we want to spend with Him. He gives us His undivided attention. Psalm 40: “I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry.” God makes all the time in the world available for us and He gives us His undivided attention when we ask for it.

The groups have a format to promote fellowship (go here for a guide to Men's Neighborhood Groups) and emphasize a personal prayer and Bible Study Life. Less than 20% of Church attending Christians read the Bible daily. This will change as a result of the men’s small groups, one man at a time. By changing this dynamic, we are changing the city of San Francisco and the world.

RA Torrey tells us that a person cannot be a praying Christian without being a Bible Studying Christian they are inseparable.

Men in Ministry, is it possible to be a disciple of Christ without being a praying Bible studying man?

Bible Reading

Men in Ministry, on track or off track, how do you know? The Bible is the basic to answering this question. The Bible is also fundamental to the daily Spiritual Warfare Prayers. Luke 10:21: At that time Jesus, full of the joy of the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father for this was your good pleasure."

The Bible is Designed to Be Easy to Read and Understand
We live our lives with the foundation in the Word, Prayer and good preaching and teaching.  Christianity Today reports that less than 20% of all church going Protestants read the Bible daily.  Ninety percent of church-going Protestants desire to please and honor Jesus. Is that a conflict or what?

Men in Ministry do you want to take a passive or active approach to your faith? The better question may be: if 90% of church going Protestants want to please Jesus is not Bible reading, studying His Word, a main area of pleasing Jesus? Is pleasing Jesus doing good stuff? Is pleasing Jesus picking what we like to do?

In 1985, I was a New, Freshly Baptized adult Christian. Hungry for God; I came to know the Lord because my wife had a couple’s Bible Study in our living room. I intended to passively participate, to please her. That lasted about 15 minutes. I could not get enough of the Word in me. I went out the next day and bought a Bible. That year at Christmas, a few months later, the Pastor of Neighborhood Assembly Pastor Rozelle, distributed One Year Bible Reading Guides. I still have it in my Bible. That year I read the Bible through for the first time. The habit was later reinforced and rekindled in San Francisco. Pastor “recommended” that we read a specific version of the Bible each year. I fought it and went back to the One Year Bible Reading Guide. I confessed the disobedience and few years later began reading the exact version he recommended each year.

Men in Ministry, the Bible tells us in Acts 2:42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” This is the early church. The church as Jesus designed it. The Church as we are the churches calling each day Holy Spirit come. The example we are to follow. As Christians, we are to follow Jesus and be like Him. When in the desert being tempted Jesus used the Bible to fend off the devil. How can the Word be buried in the heart if we do not read and study it?

Bible reading is fundamental obedience. Consider that obedience begins when we are joyfully, immediately and totally doing what Jesus wants us to do NOT what we chose.  Bible Reading is fundamental to prayer. A person cannot be a prayer unless he studies the Bible and cannot study the Bible unless he is a prayer.

Build a daily regimen of thanksgiving, worship, prayer and Bible Reading. Get a One Year Bible in 15 minutes a day you will read the Bible through in 1 year. In the One Year depending on your selected version. It will provide a daily reading of Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. Other versions provide a different daily mix.

Men in Ministry, to realize everything God has for you, you must fully participate in Christianity.

Reference: There are over 50 Scripture Verses, which tell us to read the Bible.

Spiritual Warfare Prayers

Jesus said on the cross. “It is finished”. If it is finished, why do we need Spiritual Warfare Prayers?  First I will not give the devil more credit than the Bible gives him.  1 Peter 5:8: “ be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”  He is not a roaring lion; he is like a roaring lion. We are also told to be vigilant. In Luke 1:18-19: Jesus says: “I saw Satan fall like lightening from Heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

Paul then tells us in Ephesians 6:12: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

This thing that is “like” a roaring lion with his cronies conducts war in the supernatural trying to tempt people into the fiery pit of hell.

How should we go to war?

Confess all of our sins that have not been confessed. Call on the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit come and show me any sin that I have not confessed.
Say, I repent for my sins of _____________________________ [Admit it. Say it aloud.] By GOD’s POWER and JESUS’ NAME, I pray any agreement I made in committing these sins be broken. I cry out to the HOLY SPIRIT empower me to leave this. I need your enduring power to help me take the necessary steps to get out of any environment that I’m in or away from anyone’s or anything’s influence I’m under that draws me back to this sin. HELP ME TURN FROM THIS SIN IN JESUS’ NAME!

Confessing sin takes away the roadblocks

Pray on the full armor of God.
The belt of truth, God is the truth the Word is the only truth.

By faith put on the breastplate of righteousness, Jesus is the only righteous one. I want to be shielded in the righteousness of Jesus, under His Blood is the only protection is the only way to live and be strong to win every day.

My feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of Peace. I want to walk in the Word I want to be totally available to Jesus with the Holy Spirit. I want to be prepared and confident from the Word to live the life that God has prepared.

The helmet of salvation on my head that I would have one mind purified by the Holy Spirit, with God first in everything I think and do.

Take up the shield of faith to fend off all the fire arrows of the evil one.

The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, the Word stored in our hearts and on our tongue at all times.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request.

Men in Ministry, we are ready for war! Spiritual Warfare Prayers!

BREAK CURSES In the name of Jesus, I take authority over the curse spoken by me or any others that_________________________ . [confess the verse and then the curse out loud]… I cancel this curse and all its effects, breaking off all the enemies’ power in my life in JESUS’ Name.

RENOUNCE VOWS Read Revelation 12:11  I renounce every unrighteous vow spoken over me, my family, the Men’s Ministry or My Church, by any group or individual, in JESUS’ NAME! Every ungodly vow that cripples, stops, or hinders GOD or HIS WORK in any way either in my life or at My Church I reject these vows and cancel them by the Name of JESUS.

REMOVE ALL SATANIC BLOCKS I bind and break the power of all words and thoughts coming against us, every judgment, evil power, witchcraft prayer, hex, spell, oath, covenant, secrets, agreement, accusation, blame, criticism…I bind and break the power in Jesus’ name. Father, if I have in attitude or word agreed knowingly or unknowingly with these things I ask for forgiveness.

TAKE YOUR STAND AND SHAKE OFF SATAN'S TIES As a Believer, I take my authority from Luke 10:18-21 & John 1:12. I stand on Christ’s side. He is my leader. I am following HIM! As a child of GOD, I actively, in HIS NAME, align myself with HIM body, mind, soul, and spirit.
Now as HIS ambassador I reject every evil hindrance in my life and at My Church, and I command that no spirit and no body remember them. I declare that I AM FREE from thinking, feeling or acting in accordance to these vows by the power of the BLOOD OF JESUS.

IN JESUS NAME I command all familiar spirits or other demonic forces that have attached themselves to this sin, to GO! NOW! YOU CANNOT Influence me anymore. I stand w/JESUS. GOD, I ask YOU to surround my family & me with your protection and angels.

Men in Ministry Following is Fundamental to Christianity

Matthew 4:18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee he saw two brothers; Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.

The application of the "follow" principle in the Bible is an example or a rule for all Men in Ministry.  The verses in Matthew 4 and repeated in Mark 1 see Jesus calling the Apostles to follow Him.  The calling is part of it maybe the most vital part is the response from the Apostles.

Breaking this down for our life we have to look at the Apostles, what they were doing at the time and how rapidly they responded. The Apostles were busy running their business. These guys were small businessmen. They were fishermen. Peter and Andrew fished for their livelihood. If they did not catch fish, they did not eat. and their families did not eat.

Jesus called them, in the text it tells us  “At once they left their nets and followed Him. In Mark chapter one, it says in verse 18: “At once they left nets and followed him.” The words are the same so I would deduce that immediately they left their business and followed Jesus. Peter and Andrew dropped everything to follow Jesus.

The Christian principle of following is much like the principle of obedience. Following should be instant, complete and joyful.

The principle of following comes into reality, when we are asked to follow when we do not want to follow. Just like obedience the following principle is most in effect when we do not want to follow or when following creates discomfort.

The Apostles stopped everything they were doing, dropped everything in its place and followed Jesus. Is there a practical application to the "follow" principle? Men in Ministry, the application may be difficult to accept. When our Pastor or a leader designated by the Pastor calls us to do something, remember the Apostles and how they responded.

Men in ministry, if we are going to be men who seek God, then we need to embrace the principles of following and obedience. In both cases, we need to act instantly, joyfully and completely.

Get the Men Out of Normal

What is normal? It is the OK. Why would anyone want to live in the OK? We have just completed the most incredible week in the 100-year history of Glad Tidings Church, San Francisco. I have only been here for 13 of those hundred so I can guarantee, without hesitation, we experienced the most incredible week in 13 years.

Sunday was the first full day of the Glad Tidings annual 40-day Fast. Sunday services were with Isaiah Saldivar. The second service went on for 4 hours few people left the building. The fire continued with revival meetings Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

People were healed of many diseases, from small aches and pans to cancer and strong foretaste of healing of Parkinson disease, evidenced by 12+ hours of no shaking. Demons came screaming out of people. At last count 11 times, demons exited the house. Most important of all the fire of God touched many people. Men and women received a massive douse of fire.

The services each night went on for a minimum of 4 hours of intense prayer, preaching, confession, worship, calling out to God and laying on of hands. It was over the top. The church was almost as full at 11 PM as it was at 7 PM each night. The final night went to near midnight the people did not want to stop.

Men in Ministry, what happens to all this fire when people leave the building? How much fire makes it to the parking lot, how much until the people exit the parking lot, how much makes it home, how much fire makes it passed the first conversation at home and how much makes it into the morning and then through the next day, week, month or year? What do you think the half-life of the fire that is not fanned and nurtured into a blaze? What is my responsibility for fanning the fire of a brother in the Lord?

Men in Ministry we agree that ministry is work. Do we agree that ministry is seated in discipleship and discipleship is seated in following and obedience?

What do you do to nurture and fan the sparks of God into blazing disciples? Is that my responsibility? Let me see. Jesus said: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I guess that settles whose responsibility it is to take the spark, which the Holy Spirit creates and fan it and nurture it into a blazing disciple.

The Power of Prayer cannot be overestimated. Start with prayer and fasting then put action to your faith says I need to do something.  The something could be a phone call, a coffee, a meal, invite the person to a prayer meeting or an appropriate service, maybe a small church affinity group in the person’s neighborhood or a Bible Study. Prayer will give you the right action. Whatever the action fellowship is the answer in whatever form the Holy Spirit directs.

Men in Ministry, most notable the responsibility is ours.
